Prologue

One thing has always been true in the DarkFold Realms, you never know whats going to happen at any given time. In total there are close to thirty Realms such as Shena, the realm where the divine races live, Shuri, where only death thrives and walks, the realm of everlasting war, Undar and many more. Each of these realms has very unique characteristics. Most creature stay in their own realm, but those that manage to enter Undar, accidental or otherwise, are Always dragged into the war that never ends.

Undar is splintered into hundreds of small kingdoms, each of which a mix of many different races together. Each is constantly at war with the other kingdoms. The only kingdoms that have never been invaded are the small kingdoms of Mithra thanks to, their geographical locations and superior technology with metals,  and Demra because of their superior demons.

The endless war has given rise to many different guilds. Ranging from brothels to thieving guilds to the assassin guilds. Each type of guild has their own council which governs over all the guilds within that type. While most are focusing on ruling the others, a few will soon meet the one person that will change their way of life for the better , although they have to survive immeasurable odds.

A New Home

For the first time in years Meana had no one under her command. Lady Meana always spent time commanding a guild of assassins. The year earlier the Knights of Dark Flame had destroyed her former base, killing all but her and Lora. Although Lora was caught, and would most likely have been killed by the Knights, though in a small part of her heart Meana still hoped that Lora would survive even those odds.

Ever since losing everyone, Meana spent her time looking for a new base to bring her Assassin's Guild, once feared as the Blood Scythe Guild back into the world. Her wandering eventually brought her to The Mage's Last Breath Inn in the city appropriately, if unoriginally named Mage's Nightmare. Meana sat at the far end of the bar in the darkest corner of the inn. She spoke softly to her friend Heru. “So what did you call me here for?” Meana asked while watching everyone else, noticing among them a black-hooded figure whose arm is branded with the signature of the Dark Moon Guild, a ruthless guild known for making shows of their kills.

“First, What are you looking at,” Heru whispered to Meana while trying to get a sight of everything around.

“it would seem that the Dark Moon Guild,” Meana stretched while showing the assassin with her eyes, “Has finally decided to try and fulfill their contract.” Meana then gave a small laugh before getting up and walking to the back entrance then turned and jumped with the lightest of touches to the roof, landing soundlessly at the top.

After a minute or so the Dark Moon Assassin stepped out of the door. The assassin stopped and tried to look around through the dark, their senses where not used to trying to hunt other assassins in the dark, due to always killing their prey during daylight. The assassin drew his blade and started to crouch down.

Meana slid her short blades out of the special scabbard she had made that kept the blades from making a sound as she drew her blades. She waited till the Assassin's back was turned to her before she jumped down and slammed them through the Assassin's heart and lung.

“Wow,” Heru laughed as he stepped out of the door, “I now see why all of the other guilds want you gone.” Heru laughed while he was looking around for more assassins.

“The Dark Moon Guild never sends more then one,” Meana laughed while sliding the swords from the body with a wet sucking sound.

“Excuse me, but may we use the body for food, the dwarves haven't sent us the meat they promised.” A woman spoke softly while watching Meana.

“I don't mind,” Meana spoke before shivering, then she continued “just as long as you're not feeding me the meat.”

“Well, how about a deal? I heard you want to start your guild back up. We can help you financially: whenever you bring the dead to us, we will pay you a small sum of gold.” the lady spoke while sliding four gold pieces out of her pocket, which is a lot for the time.

“Very well,” Meana smiled softly before cutting the straps holding the body's clothes. “Here you go.” Meana spoke while sliding the body to the inn keeper.

“Its a pleasure doing business with you.” the inn keeper smiled while grabbing the body before flicking the coins to Meana.

“..........You really just did that?” Heru asked while starting to look green in the face, “I will never eat the food here again, that's just wrong on so many levels.” he laughed nervously as he handed Meana a scroll “Here you go, the deed for the old Moonlight City ruins, no one wants them so I'm giving it to you.” as Meana took a hold of the scroll Heru sighed, “You must promise that you will let me visit the library some time after you clear out the monsters.”

Meana gave a soft chuckle before taking the scroll, “Sounds like a plan,” she slid the scroll into a small pocket in the back of her black leather pants.

“So I'll see you around some time,” Heru smiled before opening his palm then whispered under his breath some inaudible words. The next moment he vanished into thin air.
